This is a limited edition rum the from the Trinidad and Tobago distillery, House of Angostura, aged for a minimum of 16 years. It was firstly matured for 10 years in traditional, American oak ex-bourbon barrels, and then blended and re-casked in to French oak casks which previously held fine, French cognac, in which it was allowed to mature for the remaining 6 years. The end results is a sumptuous, flavoursome and very refined rum. This is the first time they have used French oak for the maturation of their rums, let’s hope it’s not the last!
