Another superb dram from Edradour’s Straight From The Cask series. This whisky has been released under the Ballechin brand, given to the distillery’s peated spirit.

The dram was matured in an Oloroso sherry cask for the 12 years between 2009 and 2022, before being bottled at a fiery cask strength of 58.1% ABV.

The result is a whisky with notes of roasted nuts, milk chocolate, raisins, dried figs, sultanas, weighty malt, earthy peat smoke, burnt oak and salted caramel. A wonderful combination of sherry spice and sweetness, and peat smoke.

Just 957 bottles were produced.
