The second edition of this super popular wine-finished whisky from Speyside giants Glenfiddich.

A well aged dram, the spirit has been finished in Canadian ice wine casks, having been matured for 21 years in total. Ice wine is made with grapes that are still frozen, and produces an intensely flavoursome, sweet and decadent wine that is perfect for adding flavour to whisky.

Brian Kinsman, Glenfiddich’s Malt Master, believes that ice wine is so intense that only older single malt can stand up to the cask, hence the 21 year old spirit used here.

The dram opens with notes pineapple, peach, apricot, mango, boiled sweets, sweet grape, dessert wine, classic Glenfiddich apples and pears, a touch of allspice, toffee’d malt, flowers, lychee and chocolate dipped raisins.

Bottled at 43% ABV for a little more warmth and body, this is a luxurious and delicious dram.
