A delicious and decadent whisky from Islay’s largest distillery.

This is the 2000 vintage of Caol Ila’s much loved Distiller’s Edition series, bottled in 2012.

The spirit was finished for a period in Moscatel wine casks after an initial aging in American Oak casks. The result is a smoky, sweet and rich dram.

Caol Ila 2000 Distillers Edition serves up notes of toasted almond, butterscotch, creamy peat, vanilla, sweet grapes, flowers, honey, wine-musk and wood-tannins.

A smoky, full, tasty offering, with perfect balance between the sherry and peat flavour profiles.

Definitely one for all Islay fans to try, the 2012 edition is increasingly hard to find, so grab a bottle while you have the chance!
