A flavoursome Port cask finished whisky from the rather underrated Tomintoul distillery.

Tomintoul is located in the Speyside region (sitting on the banks of the Avon – an important Spey tributary), and makes a fruity, malt-forward spirit.

This dram serves up plenty of jammy red fruit, milk chocolate, tobacco smoke, red wine, some boiled sweets, toffee’d malt, caramel, red wine, vanilla and cinnamon.

Bottled at 46% ABV, this is a medium bodied dram with a good level of intensity.

A yummy offering, the Port cask offers a different dimension to Tomintoul’s spirit.
