Another top-notch single island rum from the fine folk at Maison Ferrand and Plantation.

This bottling blends rums from two cult favourite distilleries: Long Pond and Clarendon. Both these distilleries use methods like long fermentation in open wooden tanks to create rums with high esters and fruitier flavours. The rum has been distilled in pot stills, producing an old school Jamaican rum with a classic funky character.

This rum was aged for a huge 12 years in Jamaica, followed by between 1 and 2 years of aging in Cognac casks in France.

The result is a richly flavoured and intense rum, with notes of overripe bananas, estery mango and pineapple, mocha, butter, some floral flavours, prunes, raisins, roasted oak, fresh grapes, tobacco, cinnamon, anise and a touch of cola.

Plantation Jamaica 2005 is bottled at 45.2% ABV for a warmer, well-bodied rum.

The bottling won a gold medal in the 2019 Rum Masters, and received 91 pointes in the 2019 Ultimate Spirits Challenge.
