This striking bottle of Oban single malt forms part of Diageo and HBO’s wildly popular Game of Thrones series.

The dark bottling represents the Night’s Watch, a brotherhood in the show who take an oath and pledge to defend the lands of men, the Seven Kingdoms, from the people and creatures who live North of the Wall. Oban distillery, like the Night’s Watch’s home of Castle Black, sits on the boundary between the Highlands and the wild isles of the Hebrides. Found in the northern reaches of Scotland, this distillery is a fitting tribute to the Night’s Watch.

The whisky itself is a balanced and rich dram, offering notes of cherries, blackberries, liquorice, dark chocolate, oak, green apples, a touch of burnt herbs, a little peat smoke, cinnamon, nutmeg, hay, malt and pastry.

Spicy and fruity, this tipple would warm the cockles of even the most frozen Brother of the Watch.
