A special Schnaps from the Alsatian Nusbaumer distillery.

Krutter Schnaps roughly translates as ‘herb schnaps’, and is a reference to the 40 or so different medicinal plants used to produce the spirit, which is also flavoured with bitter orange, and uses a base of brandy.

A sugar syrup is added, as is water from the Vosges mountains, bringing the spirit down to 35% ABV.

The end result is an aromatic and flavoursome schnaps, with notes of bittersweet herbs, rooty spice, citrus rind, pepper, liquorice, mint, and soft meadow flowers.

Best served after a meal.
