Another delectable offering from the fine folk at Marolo distillery.
This grappa was produced from pomace of Nebbiolo grapes used to make Barolo, which is made in the same region of Italy that is home to Marolo, Piedmont. It is a single vintage grappa, with the pomace gathered from one harvest (or Vendemmia), and distilled in one season.
The pomace is distilled in small bain marie alembics, and in small batches, so as not to damage its delicate flavours.
Described as an “extra aged” grappa, the spirit has been aged in small oak barrels, imparting to it a rich woodiness.
This grappa possesses flavours of raisins, fruit, prunes, plums, toasted spice, pressed flowers, wine tannins, red grapes, wet wood, vanilla and chocolate.
Beautifully presented in a handsome oak gift case.
