A Laphroaig first released for the travel retail market.
Named “An Cuan Mòr”, which translates as “Big Ocean”, this is a transatlantic whisky, having been matured initially in first-fill former Bourbon American oak barrels, it is then finished in European oak casks.
The result is a juicy, rich whisky, with the trademark iodine-rich coastal peat of Laphroaig (further adding to the maritime nature of this whisky). Drinkers can expect further flavours of polished oak, stone fruit, salted caramel, cedarwood, cigar smoke and flint.
Bottled at a generous 48% ABV, and without chill filtration, this allows the full aromas, flavours and textures of this whisky to be enjoyed by the drinker.
Yet again, a lovely bottling from Laphroaig.
