A vivid, floral liqueur from high quality French producer Joseph Cartron. This liqueur was first released in 2016, though Cartron have been in business since 1882.
Flavoured with violets imported from Egypt, which are made into essential oils, and a violet paste. The paste is diluted in neutral alcohol and slowly distilled under low pressure to ensure the delicate violet flavour is unharmed. To this spirit crystallised sugar is added, lowering the ABV and sweetening the drink.
This is a floral, slightly powdery liqueur, with a powerful violet and perfume note, alongside a distinctive purple hue.
Makes a delicious Aviation cocktail.
