An 1988 vintage single cask single malt from the venerable Glenfarclas distillery, forming a part of their beloved Family Cask range.

The Family Cask series has been highly prized by drinkers, collectors and critics since its first outturn in 2007. The range offers a library of liquid history, tracing the distillery’s progress since the 1950s through a collection of specially selected single cask whiskies.

This 1988 vintage has been aged in a single refill sherry butt until it was bottled in the summer of 2018, giving it an age of around 30 years.

The bottling has a heavily sherried profile typical of Glenfarclas. This dram serves up notes of lush red fruits, pineapple, dried mango, dark honey, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, chocolate malt, dark oak, toffee, vanilla, molasses, leather and nutty Oloroso.

The whisky is bottled at a cask strength 52.4% ABV, and presented free from chill filtration or colouration.

Just 596 bottles were produced.
