Another addition to the phenomenal Glenfarclas Family Cask range, world renowned for its quality vintage releases of this famous distillery’s spirit.
This particular bottling is a 1983 vintage, known as “Release X”, drawn from a refill Hogshead (cask number 32). This whisky was bottled on the 28th of June 2012, making it around 29 years old.
A slightly lighter style than usual for the Family Casks, this allows the spirit of Glenfarclas to take hold. The classic Glenfarclas spices of nutmeg, cloves and cinnamon are on show, with some luscious dried fruit flavours and dense, old oak. A good core of malty sweetness is present throughout, with a little chocolate.
As always with the Family Cask range, this whisky has been bottled without chill filtration or artificial colouration, and at a cask strength of 47.3% ABV. This ensures that the drinker enjoys only the natural flavours of the whisky.
A single cask release, just 242 bottles are available, each designed in the traditional Glenfarclas manner, and coming complete with a bold presentation box.
