Few things delight the senses as much as a well made Rhum Agricole, which rivals single malt whisky for its complexity and craft production. And indeed, few distilleries make the style as well as Rhum Clement in Martinique.
This particular bottling is one of the better offerings to come out of the distillery. A blend of superb rums, this XO spirit has been aged for at least 6 years in oak casks.
The result is a rum that has perfect balance between spirit and oak, with classic Agricole notes of grassy, sweet and aromatic cane, alongside oakier flavours of vanilla, brown sugar and tropical fruit. The flavours are that bit more intense as the spirit is bottled at 42% ABV. Clement does not use any additional sugar when making their rums, allowing the natural qualities of the spirit to dominate.
The rum is beautifully presented, with a gorgeous teardrop decanter-style bottling, complete with old fashioned closure. The bottle features an image of Clement’s habitation. Each bottle comes with a handsome presentation box, ensuring that this bottle would make an impressive gift for any rum lover.
