Another in Clement’s excellent single cask bottlings. This is a Rhum Agricole, the style of Rhum Clement, often found in Martinique distilleries. This style is different from other rum varieties, as it is made with the fermented juice of the sugar cane plant, as opposed to sugar refinery by-products such as molasses. This creates a grassier, more aromatic spirit that we can’t get enough of here at Fine Drams.

Bottlings such as this one really showcase the style. A fabulous 13 year old spirit, this rum was distilled in February 2003 and bottled on the 3rd of October 2016. This rum has been matured in a single former Bourbon American oak cask (number 20070008) for its entire maturation.

As the title of this rum suggests, this has resulted in an intense vanilla flavour, with waves of tropical fruit (bananas, pineapple and mango), dark chocolate, espresso, grassy cane, spices, esters and bright white sugar sweetness.

The flavours benefit from being bottled at slightly proof of 41.5% ABV (a classic Clement strength), and with no additional colourings or sugars added.

Just 659 bottles of this rum are available worldwide, each coming with their own neat cardboard carry case.

Once again Clement have proven why they are one of the best rum distilleries on the planet.
