An absolutely stunning 1983 vintage Caol Ila released as part of the 2014 Diageo Special Releases. Aged in a combination of refill European and refill American oak, it was awarded a 92 by Serge at Whiskyfun and he described it as an “aggressive old baby”. We must concur with his assessment, this is truly one of the best Caol Ila’s we have ever had the pleasure of tasting.
