A powerful, heavily peated whisky from Bunnahabhain, bottled by Dutch outfit The Ultimate Whisky Company.
Whilst Bunnahabhain is known for being one of the few mostly unpeated whiskies on Islay, they also make some cracking peated spirit, and this bottling is a perfect example of the style.
Distilled on the 16th of September 2011, the spirit was bottled on the 4th of April 2019, having aged seven years in a single Hogshead.
The final result is a youthful, spritely dram with notes of hot smoked malt, slight espresso, a little chilli, barbequed meat, apples, pears, hay, sea spray and a touch of vanilla oak.
Bottled at a formidable cask strength of 58.5% ABV and without chill filtration or colouration, this whisky is full in both flavour and mouthfeel.
Only 282 bottles were produced.
