A very interesting release from the famous Speyside distillery. Aberlour is well known for their delicious sherried whisky, with this being the distillery’s house style. Yet occasionally they release something a little different. In this case, their fruity, spicy spirit has been matured entirely in American White Oak (Quercas Alba), known for producing lovely soft notes of vanilla, caramel and toffee. This release follows the excellent 2004 & 2005 vintages, and is a buttery, drinkable and oaky dram, which superbly demonstrates the innate character of the distillery.
