Named after the small little cinnamon biscuits served with coffee on the continent, Speculaas is a liqueur unique to the versatile Zuidam distillery in the Netherlands.
Inspired from the days when seafaring Dutchmen would scour the globe looking for exotic herbs and spices to bring back to their homeland, this liqueur is made with a secret recipe of botanicals. We do know that it includes cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, pepper and vanilla.
The final result is a rich, sweet liqueur with waves of delicious spicy flavours: cinnamon, fragrant cardamom, toffee, peppery spice, ginger, subtle herbs, vanilla, nutmeg and slight anise. Very festive and warming!
Delicious dropped into mulled wine or punch, this is also a tasty after dinner snifter.
