A limited edition Japanese whisky from the Sasanokawa Shuzo distillery, who first began distilling whisky way back in 1946.

An interesting blend, this is produced with a mashbill of 20% malted barley and 80% corn, giving it a profile somewhat similar to a Bourbon.The whisky has been aged entirely in former Bourbon barrels for the not inconsiderable period of 16 years, producing a spirit rich in tropical fruit flavours, vanilla custard, pear and apple, honeysuckle and toffee notes.

Yamazakura takes its name from two Japanese words, Yama, meaning mountain, and Sakura, which means cherry tree, and it is the cherry tree that features on the label.

Just 1992 bottles are available world-wide.
