Another excellent release from the Worthy Park Estate, which has something of a cult following. This Jamaican rum has been finished in Madeira casks, which boost the naturally fruity flavours of the spirit.
The Worthy Park Estate was first founded as a sugar plantation way back in 1670. A lot has changed since then, but their estate is still one of the best places on earth to cultivate sugar cane.
Distilled from molasses in pot stills, in the traditional Jamaican manner, this is a characterful and slightly funky rum. This is a 2013 vintage rum.
Drinkers can expect a rum with considerable complexity, with notes of banana, pineapple, toasted spice, vanilla, Christmas cake, chocolate, cedarwood, brown sugar, and slight peppery chilli. The Madeira cask has imparted some delightful notes in this dram.
Bottled at a rambunctious 58% ABV, this is a rum that delivers plenty of flavour and body.
Just 677 bottles of this extremely limited edition rum were produced worldwide.
