A superb grappa from Villa de Varda, which is found in the Trentino region of Northern Italy.
This aged grappa is made with Brunello (Sangiovese) pomace, fermented with specially selected yeasts, and distilled in traditional discontinuous stills. The spirit is aged for a minimum of 60 months (5 years) in French oak barriques which had held Brunello di Montalcino from the Castello Romitorio winery. The barrels had been treated to a medium level of toasting.
The result is a dense and flavoursome grappa, with notes of coconut, cocoa, sweet pastry, caramelized fruits, grapes, dried fruit, spice, flowers, coffee and vanilla.
Beautifully presented with a sophisticated wooden gift box.
