Following the Talisker Storm, this is another no age-statement release this time radically different from the last. Following the initial maturation in heavily charred European refill oak casks, the Port Ruighe is then transferred in to Port casks to add the finishing touch to what is a brilliant single malt from the Talisker distillery.
Nose: Stewed red fruits, peat smoke, warm barley, manuka honey, plums and prunes.
Palate: Ashy peat, red fruit, smoked prunes, sweet grape soda, salty honey, barley, and mangos.
Finish: Quite short and fruity, lingering spice and smoke.
Overall: A lovely addition to the Talisker range, adding fruits and sweetness to the typical Talisker profile. Delicious.
