A fascinating, youthful Talisker that formed part of the 2020 Diageo Special Releases, which continued the ‘Rare by Nature’ theme established in 2019.

This bottling from the Skye distillery has been aged in pot still rum casks from the Caribbean, adding extraordinary funky flavours to the distillery’s typically peppery and maritime spirit.

This dram opens with classic Talisker coastal flavours, with notes of iodine, peat smoke and lemon juice, soon revealing funky molasses, burnt pineapple and overripe bananas. Some heavy charred oak and brown sugar round things out.

A terrific Talisker, bottled at 57.9% ABV and without chill filtration or colouration. This is a full bodied whisky that is a total break from the norm.
