An excellent bottling of a style of rum rarely seen.

Savanna Lontan is a molasses based rum from the Reunion distillery, which also makes Agricole style sugarcane juice rums. The rum has been made in such a way as to encourage as much funkiness as possible, producing a style of spirit known as “Grand Arôme”. “Grand Arôme” rums are usually produced for blending purposes, and rarely available to the public as a stand-alone offering.

The molasses for this rum were fermented for over 6 days, ensuring the yeast has ample time to develop delicious, complex flavours. This rum was produced in September 2017, and possesses 578.7 grams of esters per hectolitre of pure alcohol.

The result is a rum unlike many others, which offers up flavours of overripe pineapple and banana, slight olive and tomato, funky molasses, strawberries and red apple skins. This version is bottled at 57% ABV for added power and depth.

An intense, super-fragrant rum, perfect for mixing into cocktails or drinking neat. Only 2,500 bottles were produced.
