An impressive bottling of a rhum Agricole of a rare quality.

Rhum J.M has the distinction of being surely the only distillery in the world to be located on an active volcano – Mount Pelée, in northern Martinique. The volcanic soil is incredibly fertile, and perfect for producing flavoursome sugarcane in abundance (J.M uses only cane grown at its own estate).

This is a rhum Agricole, meaning it is produced not with molasses, but with the fermented pressed juice of the sugar cane, usually creating a more fragrant and grassy final product. The spirit was distilled in a column still.

The Cuvée Prestige Expression is a blend of specially selected casks containing some very old rare vintages. In all, the youngest spirit in this blend has been aged for no less than 15 years in oak barrels, an exceedingly long time in the climate of Martinique.

The final product is a rhum that offers up notes of succulent tropical fruits: pineapple, mango and papaya, followed by waves of dried apricot, prunes, figs and cherries, rich allspice, sandalwood, tobacco leaves, toasted nuts, cracked black pepper, crisp oak and fragrant sweet cane flavours.

The rum is beautifully presented in a Crystal Decanter, embossed with the distillery name and completed by handsome display case.

Only 500 individually numbered carafes were produced.
