Produced as a partnership between Prichard’s Distillery and Olive & Sinclair Chocolate company. Olive & Sinclair was founded in 2007, and is Tennessee’s first and, currently, only bean-to-bar company. Prichard’s Distillery is also based in Tennessee, and like Olive & Sinclair, prioritises quality production, small batch operations. Here they join forces to illustrate what these virtues can create: product of extraordinary quality!
This Double Chocolate Bourbon begins with Prichard’s expertly balanced mellow Bourbon, which is then mixed with top-quality artisan chocolate from Olive & Sinclair. The result is a delicious whiskey, with a mild bittersweet chocolate flavour. On the nose this dram offers up aromas of coffee, barrel char, sweet corn, caramel, mocha, and dense dark chocolate. The palate is faithful to these, with a little extra toffee sweetness and a greater intensity of that high-quality, slightly creamy bittersweet chocolate note. The finish is short and sweet with a final big hit of Olive & Sinclair’s outstanding chocolate. This is a truly excellent dessert dram, and bottled at 45% ABV, it continues to maintain all the robustness of a classic bourbon. We also use this in alternative Old Fashions, with a little dash or two of chocolate bitters to really heighten the flavours.
