A single malt whisky from Taiwan, and no, it’s not a Kavalan!
Omar whisky is produced at the Nantou distillery, owned by the Taiwanese government. The distillery has been making whisky since 2008.
This particular bottling has been aged entirely in ex-Sherry casks, producing a dram rich in toffee, Christmas cake character, espresso, dark chocolate and spice flavours.
This whisky has been bottled at 46% ABV and without artificial colouration or chill filtration, resulting in a creamy mouthfeel and intense palate.
A really lovely little dram, which balances youthful malty goodness with the depth of the sherried oak.
