An entirely sherry matured whisky from Bruichladdich Distillery’s Octomore range.
Octomore 13.2 has been aged in first-fill Oloroso sherry butts from the Fernando de Castilla bodega in Jerez, Spain. The whisky spent its whole five year maturation in these casks, having been distilled from 100% Scottish grown Concerto barley.
The end result is a dram that marries Octomore’s typically super-peaty spirit with sweet, spicy flavours from the sherry casks. Drinkers should expect notes of smoked nuts, dates, figs, thick earthy peat smoke, marmalade, spiced oak, dried apricot, pepper, cinnamon, fruit scones, wood smoke, dark chocolate, pears and dried apple.
Like Octomore 13.1, this whisky is peated to 137.3 PPM. The spirit is presented at a cask strength of 58.3% ABV.
