An exciting bottling from Japanese whisky giants Nikka and their Miyagikyo distillery, this release caused something of a stir when it hit the shelves back in 2017.
This whisky has been finished for a full 12 months in rum wood casks, enhancing the naturally fruity spirit of the distillery with some beautiful tropical notes.
As a result, this dram offers up flavours of vanilla, toasted coconut, dried fruits, plums, toffee, honey, green apple, papaya, bright estery rum, pears, lemons, mango, crunchy green malt, some funky yeasty notes, banana, beeswax, milk chocolate, and flowers.
Super complex, but incredibly drinkable, this whisky has been bottled at 46% ABV and without chill filtration for a richer flavour and body.
Just 3,500 bottles of this playful dram were released worldwide.
