The second edition of Macallan’s Concept series, this bottling was originally created for the travel retail series.

This limited edition range of whiskies combines “the passion of whisky-making” with innovative cultural forms like music and visual art.

This bottling is the creation of Steven Bremner, a whisky maker working Macallan who moonlights as a house music DJ. For Bremner, creating whisky is a lot like making good music, you have to begin with a strong foundation, then add layers of complexity and interest on top.

This whisky has been aged in a combination of sherry seasoned American oak barrels, Miguel Martin sherry casks, and former Bourbon barrels. The result is a well-balanced and flavoursome dram that displays the qualities of both Bourbon and sherry maturation. Drinkers can expect notes of toffee apple, almonds, cinnamon, oak, nutmeg, allspice, subtle dried fruits, thick vanilla, buttered bread, sweet sherry and red cherries.

Bremner says he has used the casks like instruments, each bringing their own influence to the overall product. It’s certainly a tune we enjoy!
