The replacement bottling for Fine Oak, Triple Cask first hit the shelves in 2018, as part of the Macallan range’s relaunch.

The three casks referred to by the bottling’s title are European and American oak casks, which have been seasoned with sherry, and former Bourbon American oak barrels.

The result is a complex and fruity dram, which balances traditional Macallan spice-and-sherry flavours, with the creamy sweetness of Bourbon barrels.

This whisky offers notes of toasted walnut, ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, dried fruit, pineapple, banana, vanilla, dark oak, sherry, and some slight lemon zest.

A great introduction to the Macallan range, this is a well-balanced and satisfying dram, bottled without artificial colouration.
