A large, high quality gift set from Kavalan, which contains 6 different 50 ml miniature bottlings. Kavalan are a Taiwanese distillery which have been producing high quality single malts since 2008.

This include 6 whiskies that have each been matured in a different sort of cask: Brandy Oak, Fino Sherry Oak, Sherry Oak, Wine Oak, Peaty Oak and ex-Bourbon Oak. All the bottlings are produced at 54% ABV, except the Peaty Oak at just 50%.

The Brandy Oak has been matured in former Brandy casks, giving the final whisky a strong grape note, alongside touches of pressed flowers, toffee and mixed spice.

The Fino Sherry Oak bottling is possibly the most interesting in the set, with Fino maturations still quite rare in whisky. This dry style of sherry has given an almost savoury note to the whisky, with notes of crisp white grape, green apple and white wine.

The Peaty Oak is another fascinating bottling in the set, having been matured in a cask that previously held peated spirit, this has given the whisky notes of peat, smoked charcoal, sea spray and toasted malt.

The Ex-Bourbon Oak bottling is an intensely sweet dram, with strong wood spice and vanilla notes, and a creamy thick mouthfeel.

The Sherry Oak is a powerful whisky, packed with Christmas cake character, featuring notes of prunes, plums, dried cranberries, almonds and dark toffee.

The Wine Oak provides notes of red fruits, white grapes, slightly bitter tannins, spice and fruity sweetness. A sweet and delicious dram.
