Another excellent single cask Solist bottling from Kavalan distillery.
For this dram, the Taiwanese distillery has picked out an ex Bourbon cask. The spirit was distilled on the 27 of August 2010, and bottled seven years later, in October 2017.
In Taiwan, the climate ensures that whisky ages at an increased rate, meaning that drams such as this one tend to appear more characterful and flavoursome than similarly aged whiskies from Scotland.
The final result is a whisky rich in notes of red apples, vanilla, buttered cornbread, honeyed malt, white chocolate, bananas, chilli powder, cinnamon and deep oak spice.
This dram has been bottled at cask strength of 58.6%, and without chill filtration or colouration, for an intense drinking experience.
