An excellent gift set containing three 50ml miniatures of Jean-Luc Pasquet’s organic Cognac, plus two branded Glencairn glasses.

The three spirits included are: Jean-Luc L’Organic 04 Cognac (VS), Jean-Luc L’Organic 07 Cognac (VSOP) and Jean-Luc L’Organic 10 Cognac (XO).

All three cognacs are made from a Grande Champagne vineyard of just 7.5 hectares, which is planted with a mixture of 8% Montils, 16% Folle Blanche, and 76% Ugni Blanc grapes.

The Pasquet estate maintain traditional methods, hand harvesting their grapes, fermenting with local yeast and avoiding the use of sulphur. During the two month distillation season, the spirit is double distilled in a traditional copper pot still (which you can see on the label). It is then aged in 400 litre Limousin French oak casks.

The 04 Cognac has been aged for four years in 400 litre Limousin French oak casks, and is fruity and refreshing, with notes of flowers, vanilla, bright sweet grapes, white peach, dried fruits, subtle mixed spice, light oak, Madeira cake and peppery warmth.

The 07 Cognac has been aged for seven years, and is more citrussy and floral than the VS, serving up notes of orange rind and tangerine, alongside elderflower, orange blossom, raisins, figs, canned peaches, sweet grapes, cinnamon, dried fruits, a little fig and a touch of honey.

The 10 Cognac has been matured for 10 years, and delivers notes of rich oak, leather, mahogany, toffee, flowers, sweet grapes, peaches, dried fruits (prunes and sultanas), dark chocolate, spice, peppery warmth, vanilla, tobacco and cedarwood.
