A crisp single barrel bottling from Càrn Mòr, another in their excellent Celebration of the Cask series.
Inchgower is a rather underrated distillery, which produces a spirit that has been compared to that highly regarded cult malt – Clynelish. Located in coastal Speyside, Inchgower has traditionally been used in the Bell’s blend, and is not often seen as a single malt.
This bottling has been matured in a single Hogshead for 18 years, indeed, the dram was bottled just two weeks after it hit this age.
The result is a delicate, waxy whisky with a good deal of complexity. Drinkers can anticipate gentle, creamy citrus, fresh flowers, almond, bright new oak, peach, apricot, a little mango bark, oats and white chocolate.
Bottled at 53.1% ABV, and without chill filtration or colouration, this presentation lends heft to a lighter style of spirit.
A refined and sophisticated malt, this is another impressive bottling from Càrn Mòr. Just 250 bottles were produced.
