A limited edition whisky from Orkney distillery Highland Park, first released in 2016.
Sticking to their Norse theme, this whisky is made in tribute to Nilfheim, one of the nine worlds of old Norse mythology – the land of ice and frost.
This dram has been aged for 17 years in mostly Bourbon casks, giving it a clarity of flavour and light colour that matches the icy theme.
This dram offers up cool, yet tropical notes, with touches of mango and pineapple ice cream, ginger, bright ashy smoke, slight fennel seed, vanilla, salty peat, crisp white oak, a little juniper and powdered cinnamon.
Bottled at a cask strength of 53.9% ABV and without chill filtration or colouration, the theme might be cold but the whisky is warming!
Ice is presented in a blue cut glass bottle that recalls a frosty shard, and packaged in a light wood cradle. The brother bottling to Highland Park Fire.
