A new 10 year old whisky from Scotland’s most northerly distillery, Highland Park!
This expression is largely aimed at the European market. This forms part of the distillery’s recent rebrand emphasising the Norse heritage of the Isle of Orkney, off Scotland’s north coast, where Highland Park is found.
Furthermore, this whisky honours the Viking heritage of the distillery itself, with the founder of the distillery, Magnus Eunson a descendant of Viking invaders. The scars that the whisky’s title refers to are not scars on the Vikings themselves, but the scars of influence left on the island since their Nordic conquest.
The whisky itself has been aged for 10 years. Drinkers should expect a classic Highland Park experience: plenty of peppery spice, maritime notes, slight smoke, heather honey and citrus.
A beautifully presented whisky, with a charming, embossed bottle. Top notch stuff all round.
