A nicely aged single cask, single malt whisky from Highland Park.
This 2004 vintage has been aged in refill oak butt for 14 years, having been bottled in early 2019. The bottling was originally created as an exclusive with for the Norway market. Highland Park has a particularly affinity for and popularity in Norway and Scandinavia, and the Orcadian malt is proud of its Norse heritage.
The final product is a dram that delivers typical Highland Park restrained peat, full bodied malt, some subtle apples and dried fruits, peppery spice, cinnamon, powdered cloves, vanilla custard, white chocolate, almonds, sea spray and somewhat dusty oak.
Highland Park are careful to pick out good quality casks for these bottlings, and this one fits the bill. A cracking dram, bottled at a fiery 59.7% ABV and non chill filtered.
