The High West Rendezvous Rye is a blend of two rye whiskies. One is an old, refined, and aromatic 16 year old, and the other is a bold and spicy 6 year old.
The 16 year old rye is from a mashbill of 80% rye, 10% corn, and 10% barley malt, sourced from th Barton distillery. The 6 year old is a straight rye from a mashbill of 95% rye, and 5% barley malt, sourced from MGP.
Combining these two high-rye mashbills, the Rendezvous Rye honours the way rye whisky used to be, with its uncompromising, spicy rye flaovours. Many of today’s ryes are “barely legal”, from mashbills with no more than 51–53% rye.
