This whisky is the seventh release in Glenmorangie’s much loved Private Edition range. It is not difficult to see what Glenmorangie took inspiration from when creating this colourful and boldly flavoured whisky. The packaging is designed to recall the look of old fashioned sweet shops and wrappers. Indeed, the name translates from the Gaelic as ‘sweet things’. These references are not without good cause either, reflect the sweet flavours found in the spirit itself. Here the distillery has taken the classic 10 year old Glenmorangie, and finished for two and a half years in just over 150 red wine barriques from Portugal. The result is a whisky with all the beautiful floral and honey flavours that we know and love in Glenmorangie, with the addition of notes of strawberry gummy sweets, lemon sherbet, and crystallised oranges. As the whisky is bottled at 46% and without chill filtration, the flavours are vivid on the palate. A nostalgic and delicious whisky, that will appeal to the inner child.
