The Signet is distilled from high roast malt (known as chocolate malt), and their own, single estate Cardboll barley. It is comprised of a range of different casks, most noticeably Spanish Oloroso sherry casks, and charred, new oak barrels. Also in this whisky, but only making up a small part, is some of Glenmorangie’s absolute oldest stock, ranging from 35–40 years. The end result is absolutely stunning. Most definitely one of the best whiskies to ever come from the distillery.
