This is the 8th release of Glenmorangie’s yearly Private Edition. This time they’ve taken bourbon cask matured Glenmorangie and finished it in Malmsey Madeira casks. Malmsey is one of most highly-regarded Madeira wines, and also one of the sweetest. The Glenmorangie Bacalta is very fruity whisky with many layers of complex sweetness.
