The first edition, or Chapter One, of The Legacy Series, which was launched 2019.

The Legacy Series celebrates the distillery’s manager from 1869, Cochrane Cartwright, who was the first man to introduce Sherry casks to the Glengoyne spirit. Since this innovation, Sherry matured whisky has become one of the hall marks of Glengoyne, and indeed, it is known for making some of the best Sherried drams around.

This bottling has been aged in a combination of first fill European oak Oloroso sherry casks and refill Glengoyne casks.

The end product is luxurious and thick whisky with notes of toffee, vanilla, nutmeg, cinnamon, cloves, slight peppery spice, dried fruits (raisins, prunes and dried apricot) , pears, apples, soft oak, and chocolatey malt.

Bottled at a warming 48% ABV and without colouration or chill filtration, this is a satisfying, creamy dram.
