Tucked away in the charming French town of Lannemaignan (which has a population of just over 100), which is found in the Gers region in Armagnac country’s western reaches. This location is renown for producing a marvellous style known as Bas-Armagnac. This variety is distinct due to the area’s stony, undulating and slightly acidic soil, perfect for cultivating grapes of real character and flavour. The Domaine has been managed for several decades by Michel Lamothe, and is produced using a traditional continuous Armagnac Alembic. Both Lamothe’s expertise and the distillery’s old-fashioned methods are demonstrated by the quality of the spirit. A rich, flavourful offering, replete with dark coffee, chocolate and oak notes counterpoised to the sweet fruits at the heart of the spirit. Another excellent single vintage Armagnac from this Domaine, which is bottled at the higher strength of 46% and is non chill-filtered.
