An excellent single vintage Armagnac from Domaine le Basque.

Domaine le Basque is found in the Gers Region of Armagnac, in the west of the area.

The Domaine makes its home in Lannemaignan, a tiny French town that has only 100 or so residents.

Here they produce an exceptional quality of Bas-Armagnac, with the soil in the region perfect for growing grapes – stony, and slightly acidic.

This spirit is produced in a traditional Armagnac Alembic, and has been aged in French oak. The result is a brandy that offers notes of ripe berries, dried fruit, chocolate, dark oak, cinnamon, ginger, grapes, wine tannins, vanilla and nutmeg.

Bottled at 46%, this is a medium bodied, rich Armagnac.
