The Dictador 20 Year Old is aged in refill-casks using the solera system, and is distilled from a fermentation of virgin sugar cane honey, as opposed to the more standard, molasses fermentation. The end result is a rich and intense rum with soft vanilla, toffee, brown sugar, baking spices, dried fruits, and a fleeting smokiness on the nose. It has a luxurious, velvety mouthfeel and a long, oak-heavy and warming finish. A very well put together dram, and very well-priced, too!
