A very interesting release from iconic Scotch blenders, Dewar’s.

This bottling is the first release in Dewar’s 8 Cask series, which showcases the brand’s spirit in various different cask finishes. This Caribbean Smooth bottling takes Dewar’s 8 year old blended Scotch whisky (a combination of single malt and grain whiskies), and finishes it for 4 or 5 months in casks that have previously held rum.

The result is a luscious, tropical whisky that offers notes of mango, coconut, pineapple, brown sugar, chocolate, apples, toffee, vanilla, sweet grain, oak char, bananas and toasted malt.

This is a fun and fruity twist on the classic Dewar’s style. Would work brilliantly in cocktails.
