A rich fruity liqueur produced by the Dutch De Kuyper company, who have been distilling since the mid-18th Century. This liqueur is the most heavily exported cherry brandy made in the Netherlands.
For this liqueur, De Kuyper have blended dark red cherries with brandy and spicy distillates of cinnamon and cloves. During production, the kernels of the cherry are crushed and distilled, producing a rich, marzipan-like flavour.
This bottling offers notes of bright, slightly sour red cherries, sweet berries, grapy brandy sweetness, mixed Christmas spices, almond and red apples.
Cherry brandy liqueur is a required ingredient in many classic cocktails, the most notable probably being the Blood and Sand and the Singapore Sling.
Drunk neat, this bottling makes for a great Christmas-time tipple.
