The eighth bottling in a range of different cask finished Dalmores.
This dram is a 2008 vintage, that was initially aged in first fill former Bourbon barrels, before being finished in Madeira wine casks. The result is a sweet, spicy dram that is an interesting variation from Dalmore’s usually heavily sherried spirit.
This 2008 vintage serves up notes of hay like malt, dates, sweet stewed fruits, heather honey, toasted nuts, slight dark chocolate, rich vanilla oak, pears, salted caramel, cinnamon and subtle liquorice.
Bottled at 46% ABV for a little more body and depth, this is a well crafted, well balanced whisky from Dalmore.
